As part of our commitment to bringing you the latest social-scientific research on religion, GCRR is proud to introduce the Head of our "Global Holocaust and Religion Studies" division, Mehak Burza.
Dr. Mehak Burza is a Research Scholar in the Department of English, Jamia Millia Islamia (New Delhi, India). Her thesis title is "Literary Representations of The Holocaust: An Assessment." Her primary interests include Holocaust/Genocide Studies, Jewish Studies, Gender, Identity, Trauma Studies and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As an Assistant Professor of English, she has taught various courses of English Literature at Delhi University. She is also a graduate student member of the Catholic Biblical Association of America.
Mehak had presented her paper, “Unveiling the Shroud Of Deniance,” at the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies at the University of Texas at Dallas, as well as her paper, “From Idol to Object,” at the Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania.
Her research publication, “The Myriad Expressions of Solidarity Amongst Female Prisoners in the Concentration Camps,” was published in the Contemporary Literary Review India journal. Her translations have been published in Purple Ink, the online Journal of Brown University, Los Angeles.
On the creative front, her short story and several poems have been published in Galaxy Multidisciplinary Research Journal, Visual Verse and Trouvaille Review.
