The peer-reviewed academic journal, Socio-Historical Examination of Religion and Ministry (SHERM), is planning to release a supplemental issue devoted entirely to the topic of Jewish Perspectives on the New Testament Gospel of John. This supplemental issue will then be released as a book publication through GCRR Press.
Headed by Jewish scholars, Dr. Charles David Isbell (Louisiana State University) and Dr. Steve Jacobs (University of Alabama), the purpose of the topic will be to pose and then answer common questions Jews might have about the Gospel of John or John's sense of Jewish culture and beliefs, as well as present current or new research on the Fourth Gospel's depiction of and impact on the Jewish community (both in ancient and modern times).
SHERM journal is currently accepting abstract proposals from Jewish academicians who specialize in Judaic studies, religious studies, religious history, historical theology, or a related field.
If you are interested in contributing a chapter to this supplemental issue, please contact Dr. Darren Slade (dslade@gcrr.org) for further details.
