About
As a psychotherapist trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), KAP (Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy), and a Level II Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Arielle Sokoll-Ward has a passion for providing an authentic therapeutic experience and connection with her clients. Arielle primarily specializes in grief/ loss/ bereavement and PTSD/ trauma. She also works with many people who are living with eating disorders. Arielle is a board-approved clinical supervisor for licensed graduates wishing to gain hours for their clinical license in Texas. After graduating with her Master's in clinical social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Arielle has years of experience working with various populations. She has been professionally speaking since 2014 and is a 2019 TEDx speaker on finding resilience within grief, She has been quoted as an expert source for VICE and Cosmopolitan, and is the author of the book, Adding the E: Perspectives of Grief Through Recounts, Letters, and Poetry. Arielle is also a foundational relational therapist. What that means is that the relationship, trust, and rapport built between the client and therapist is the most important thing for successful and impactful therapy. She calls herself a validating challenger because she will validate you to the moon and back, and she will call you out on your shit. She brings humor, curiosity, authenticity, empathy, psychoeducation, and a passionate attitude to the therapeutic space. You will discover that you are more resilient than you think you are and everything that you need to heal is already within you. Therapy just gives it a roadmap.
Arielle is particularly fond of working with clients who have/are experiencing grief, loss, and trauma. She has experience working with a variety of issues and populations: eating disorders, severe mental illness, survivors of abuse, LGBTQ+, domestic violence and sexual violence, the unhoused population, depression, anxiety, PTSD, medical trauma, chronic illness, relationship and interpersonal struggles, and life transitions.
